This week we have been painting our rocks and making our designs to give away to someone. I am painting 3 Rocks we have learnt to be patient with painting have a steady hand breath have focused attention don't have to much paint on your brush.

We are doing festival of the arts and i am doing Kowhatu toi it is rock painting. i have been drawing in the book we got and i have learnt Koru, RitoRito, Niho taniwha, Mangopare, Manawa and Puhoro.

How DOC encourages New Zealanders

1. They show kaitiakitanga by helping animals and protecting them. It can encourage people to not hunt animals all the time and help them.

2. DOC looks after New zealand's historical sites that have lots of history

3. they manage threats to places and species including fires

4. they run projects to protect and restore habitats on conservation land.

5. they get rid of the unwanted pest in new zealand
