English (Formal Persuasive Writing)

Is school the best place to make mistakes?

Without mistakes, you won’t succeed.

Mistakes help you get better at stuff, Mistakes won’t hurt as much as they hurt in real life, You can bounce back and learn from your mistakes, It is good to make mistakes, It is normal to make mistakes.

School is a time for teenagers to transition from childhood to adulthood, and mistakes will help them get there.

For instance, by making a mistake it is actually good in a way because it teaches you what not to do next time. It is not normal if you don’t make mistakes, Because everyone makes mistakes.

School needs to be a place that doesn't just teach the right answers; it should also be a place that teaches kids how to bounce back from failure. If they make mistakes, those mistakes won't hurt them as they would in real life. So If you make a mistake it is ok, because you can learn from it and mistakes help you succeed.

Not only do mistakes help you learn, but they will also prepare you for your adulthood. By making mistakes you will know what is right and wrong, and you will make sure you won’t make that mistake again.

This shows that mistakes are just part of life and that everyone makes mistakes in life whether it be a small or big mistake.

But making too many mistakes at school can be bad because you could fail.

By making too many mistakes at school or anywhere can lead to you failing or even worse like getting injured or even killed. For example, if you work at a construction site you could make a mistake and get injured.

If you are struggling with something and you make a mistake you might not learn from these mistakes and fail.

Static images English

What is a static image?
Static Images are literally 'still pictures' that communicate a message. You are surrounded by static images every day to the point where you probably don't even notice them anymore. Static images communicate by combining visual elements with words.

This static image is using a big red sign,
a hand, and the word STOP. This image is using visual elements with words to communicate with the viewer. The stop sign is using the colour red because red symbolizes warning and that there is danger ahead. Red is also used to get your attention because it is a high visibility colour. The sign is using big bold letters to tell you to stop. Bold letters are used to take up more space of the image so that it is easier to see.

In this image, we can see an advertisement for dallas farmers market, and a box of vegetables made to look like fries. This image uses lots of bright colors like yellow and red, but the most eyecatching colour is yellow. The image is using yellow to symbolize joy, attention, and energy.

The meaning of Pathos, Logos, and Ethos

Pathos: is an appealing of emotions. It is used to evoke an emotional response to a consumer, and it can also include emotions such as fear and guilt. For instance, The pathos of the Children's Crusade of 1212 only nerved him to fresh efforts.

Logos: Logos is the persuasive technique that aims to convince an audience by using logic and reason. Also called “the logical appeal,” logos examples in advertisement include the citation of statistics, facts, charts, and graphs. It is used to show the statistics of something. For instance 'the immutability of God requires the eternity of the Logos and of the world'.

Ethos: Ethos is an argument that appeals to the audience by emphasizing the speaker's credibility and authority. Ethos is a way of appealing to an audience by showing one's credibility and ethical character. This is one of the three modes of persuasion in rhetoric, as distinguished by Aristotle, the other two being pathos and logos. For instance "As a doctor, I am qualified to tell you that this course of treatment will likely generate the best results."
